REFLEXOLOGY was introduced to the UK in the 1960s but has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese and Ancient Egyptians. Pictures have been discovered on the wall of a pyramid tomb, dating back to 2330BC.
Nowadays, modern reflexology works by dividing the body into 10 zones and treating the feet in order to balance the whole body.
By applying pressure to “reflex areas” on the feet, other corresponding areas of the body will get the benefit. The feet and hands are like little maps of the anatomy of the body so that any area can be stimulated by working the reflex on the corresponding part of the foot.
Reflexology can help by:
- relieving stress and tension
- giving a deeply relaxing effect
- improving blood circulation to help with cell regeneration
- promotion healing from injury and illness
- improving waste elimination
- activating the body’s self-healing system

A. You will be asked to relax in a semi-reclining position on the treatment couch, supported by pillows. The practitioner places their hands gently on or the feet and works in a set series of movements to massage and stimulate “zones” on the feet, toes and ankles. The entire treatment, including a massage to the feet at the end, takes approximately one hour.
Q. Do I need to remove any clothing?
A. Only shoes and socks. There is no need to remove any other clothing at all.
Q. What will I experience during the treatment?
A. It is usual to relax deeply throughout the treatment. Some people relax enough to sleep, others stay awake and simply enjoy the peace. All you are asked to do is to be open in your mind, to receive the treatment.
Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. This will be dependant on the problem you are wishing to treat and your individual needs. You will receive a full consultation and we can talk about a suitable course of treatment tailored individually to you.
